Inspiration from left to right: Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte
by Georges-Pierre Seurat based off of one of the ladies in the painting itself; the one in a red top and holding a red umbrella. I also wanted to give a nod to the pointillism used for the coloring! Irises
by Van Gogh I wanted to draw a petal-like top of sorts. Dancers, Pink and Green
by Edgar Degas loosely referenced off of a little girl who was passing by and wearing these cute pleated jean skorts
I visited New York for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I got to go to the Met museum! It's definitely a super inspiring place to be, and I ended up wandering around the European Paintings section. It's like a huge web of galleries, really (40 something rooms?), and I actually got lost in it because I hadn't bothered to take a map :/
Anyway, there were benches, so I was able to sit down for a while to sketch things based off the paintings themselves or even just random people walking by. I'd love to know if you have a favorite out of the three! But yes. I'm finally back from a month-ish long break :'D Vacation's been really great, but I've also been quite busy, and I'm happy to be home!
